Carry out research on existing and new software to ascertain which areas of the software are to be used by the firm, then to learn the packages, and devise training sessions on those packages. Deal with technical queries raised in relation to the new software both from colleagues and users which could involve: Carrying out research, documenting the resolution, knowledge transfer to colleagues within IT so they are able to support the new software and deal with queries from users. The person is required to deliver training in accordance with the training schedule, ad hoc as per user requests and in a classroom environment as group sessions and for individuals on a one to one basis. Deliver on-the-job Training, floor walk departments on a regular basis to assess on-the-spot, individual training needs. As a result, when appropriate, train individuals at their desks. Identify and action training requirements from referrals. Attend Train the Trainer sessions run by suppliers for new software/packages to be introduced. Identify and meet the training requirements of the firm by adapting documentation provided by suppliers, suggesting amendments to supplier training and deliver training on the new software, establishing user skill sets and adjust training accordingly and delivering training to project time scales. Create course scripts and course ware where necessary, create and maintain user technical documentation and publish user documentation on the Intranet. Create and maintain user training records, training schedule and the IT training calendar. Candidates should possess good IT support skills, including direct experience in a first line support role. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office XP. Previous training experience would be beneficial.. Communication skills, both written and face-to-face, are essential, as are effective interpersonal skills. The roles involves a lot of teamworking so good team skills are required, particularly in communicating and supporting other team members. Web Developer

Our client is a top 50 UK Law firm with offices in the UK and The Far East. As part of the ongoing expansion of their ICT team, the firm is now looking for a Web Developer. Reporting to the firms applications Development Manager, you will be responsible for the creation of a highly visible internet, extranet and intranet solution. The role is very much user facing and will involve a high degree of working with others within the IT team, offering training and support for their use of the systems. Project Manager

Legal Software Supplier, London, to £60k (01.04.08)
A brand new exciting and demanding role has opened for a leading organisation in London. My client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to work on multiple projects, managing the implementations, integration, upgrades and testing of a variety of applications for the legal industry on client sites. Ideally you shall be London based, as this is where the majority of the client base is, there will be some travelling involved, but there will not be long stays away from home. You shall be working on new client implementation projects, but also working on projects for existing clients, where you will be managing system upgrades and applications customisation. You shall also provide assistance with the training and development of less senior staff in the use of Project Management principles and procedures. We are ideally looking for Prince 2 certified candidates that have worked within the software/applications sector, either for a software house, or within the legal or financial industry. Knowledge of languages such as C#, .NET, VB.NET and databases such as SQL Server would be nice, but by no means an essential requirement. As part or a substantial on-going investment in further development of their technical infrastructure, the firm is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to join its small but highly professional ICT Department. The key responsibilities for the role: Assume responsibility for the firm’s SQL Server estate and acquire a thorough knowledge of the systems and interactions in use. Monitor health and performance of databases and database servers, performance tuning where required and maintaining an up to date awareness of services packs and patches. Actively research, test and recommend best practices for implementation, with a particular emphasis on resilience, performance and security. Take responsibility for implementation and management of data and system backup strategies to ensure maximum resilience, maintaining thorough documentation. Contribute effectively to the firms’ business continuity strategies. Liaise as required with other areas of the IT Department and third party vendors to ensure successful and efficient integration between database systems. Ideally a graduate and with at least two years experience in a similar role, you will need a thorough knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and 2005 architectures as well as T-SQL scripting and DTS/SSIS. Additionally, you will need first class communication skills. Experience of ITIL will be of advantage. Technical Consultant

Brand new opportunity to join a leading software house based in London. Due to expansion my client is looking for a technical consultant with a DBA background, familiar with developing, implementing and providing training on bespoke applications, ideally within the legal industry. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 development, administration and implementation skills and also have previous experience installing and implementing Win 2000/2003, whilst having an understanding or exposure to languages such as C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET. This is not purely a development role, as you shall be responsible for liaising with clients, providing consultancy services, administering applications implementations and integrations, and user training and DBA work. This is an extremely diverse role, working for a major player in this market. The client base is predominantly in London, and a driving license is not essential for this role.
