We’ve got a bumper round-up of channel news today from JuraLaw + Netdocuments – Clio + Fujitsu ScanSnap – Hitachi + LexisOne – Linetime + Moneypenny – Bellefield + eBillingHub + Winscribe – CPA Global – Rekoop and, finally, Worldox and Sony Digital Paper

• Law Bulletin Publishing Company has announced an integration between its JuraLaw web-based national case, calendar and docket management Saas and the NetDocuments cloud-based document management system. The new integration enables JuraLaw users to associate documents stored in NetDocuments to cases, dockets and diary events in JuraLaw. The integration works in real-time, so as new documents are added to NetDocuments, users can  immediately link them to records in JuraLaw. The intuitive interface makes selecting and viewing documents directly within JuraLaw quick and easy. Since both JuraLaw and NetDocuments are cloud-based, users can access both programs anywhere and anytime from any web-enabled device.

• Clio and Fujitsu have teamed up to offer a wireless scanning solution built into Clio’s iOS application. Touted as a marked leap forward towards paperless legal offices, the integration offers the ability to scan documents directly to a Clio account via your iPhone from a Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 scanner. By taking advantage of the integration, mobile lawyers on the go can utilize their ScanSnap scanner to scan documents directly to the appropriate matter within Clio, whenever they like, wherever they are. This added productivity feature continues to provide lawyers with greater freedom and flexibility when managing and dealing with virtual documents. The Clio for iPhone app’s integration with ScanSnap also provides a preview feature of the document while allowing an lawyer to easily associate it with an appropriate matter, keeping documents organized and easily accessible.

• Hitachi Solutions, the Microsoft Dynamics solutions and services arm of Hitachi, has partnered with LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions to provide organisations across the global legal sector with enterprise-grade business management system, LexisOne, powered by Microsoft Dynamics AX. This formidable partnership combines LexisNexis’ deep understanding of the legal sector with Hitachi Solutions’ extensive experience of implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, Microsoft Dynamics AX, into large, global and complex organisations.

Telephone answering specialist Moneypenny has announced its latest partnership agreement – with legal software suppliers Linetime. The new partnership agreement has been developed on the back of the realisation that the two companies had many clients in common says Kevin Bishop, Business Development Manager at Moneypenny “Many Linetime clients already rely on Moneypenny for their telephone answering solution so by working together more closely, we will be offering customers old and new a more consultative approach, helping them work smarter and more competitively.

• dictate2us has secured a strategic partnership with Speech Processing Solutions (SPS), an international electronics company that exclusively develops, produces and markets Philips dictation hardware and software.

• eBillingHub has announced an alliance with Bellefield Systems LLC, provider of the iTimeKeep mobile time entry system for attorneys. By joining forces, eBillingHub and Bellefield Systems will further increase billing efficiency and compliance for their joint clients. “We’re pleased to be able to build on the value eBillingHub offers by integrating with Bellefield’s widely adopted iTimeKeep application,” said Carlos Seoane, general manager, eBillingHub. “We’re in the business of helping firms advance their business practices, and this integration does just that – time entries will be validated against client billing guidelines at the point of time entry and not later in the billing process, saving time and effort for attorneys, finance staff, and clients alike”

+ And in more iTimeKeep news… Winscribe has announced a partnership with Bellefield Systems LLC, provider of iTimeKeep and experts in mobile time entry for attorneys. By teaming up, the new solution will allow joint clients to quickly and easily document case information and time. “The most valuable asset of any law firm is the attorneys’ time, and attorneys know that effective time management and timekeeping is the key to maximizing personal productivity and firm profits,” explains Matthew Weavers, CEO of Winscribe. “The integration of two essential attorney applications, dictation and time-keeping, delivers the ultimate time management tool. This is a win-win for legal professionals who are looking for an all-in-one solution.”

+ Bellefield Systems has released of its Application-Programming Interface (API) and Winscribe as its first API partner. By embedding iTimeKeep’s API into any of their Mobile or Desktop apps, third-party vendors will allow attorneys to capture all work-related activities contemporaneously, saving the attorney from the need to reconstruct or remember activities at a later time. Contemporaneous time entry in the most productive time entry method for attorneys and leads to a significant increase in billing accuracy at the firm. “This is a game changer that further extends Bellefield’s lead in the mobility arena,” said Daniel Garcia, Bellefield CTO. “Any and all makers of Apps for attorneys are welcome to join our API partner program and extend their Apps with time entry capabilities.”

• CPA Global, one of the world’s leading providers of outsourced intellectual property (IP) and legal support services, has been named in the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals Global Outsourcing 100 for a fourth time. Time capture specialist Rekoop has announced a partnership with Taylor Mowbray LLP, a leading provider of financial training to the legal sector and the authors of the annual NatWest law firm benchmarking report. The tie-up comes at an interesting time for the time recording arena, with a clear trend for switching away from embedded timesheet functionality found in PMS and embracing instead best-of-breed solutions. A third of the top tier has already made the move and a further third are actively contemplating it. Taylor Mowbray’s Robert Mowbray adds “Our work together has already demonstrated that a small increase in time captured – 3% or just a couple of units a day, can result in a 10% increase in PEP. And no-one has to work any harder for it at that point. The hard work comes at the beginning, in understanding how to create and sustain a positive time recording environment. This is a great opportunity for firms to address head-on the challenge of profit accountability.”

sony-digital-paper• Worldox is integrating the Sony Digital Paper device with its document management system so legal and other professionals can easily and securely access documents, upload handwritten notes and annotated documents, and share with other individuals or groups.

“Sony has created a superlative tool for attorneys,” said Ray Zwiefelhofer, President of World Software Corporation. “It’s incredibly thin and lightweight, super comfortable for taking handwritten notes and the viewing of documents comes real close to the paper counterpart. In addition to PDF source files, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel files can be converted to the PDF format and saved, viewed and annotated on the Digital Paper device. For speedy retrieval and transfer, Sony’s Digital Paper incorporates wireless access to servers (via Wi-Fi) as well as USB connectivity.

Key features and functions that make Sony’s Digital Paper relevant to the day-to-day activities of professionals include:

Digital Paper is planned to be available in May, initially through a select group of Worldox agents, with a suggested list price of $1,100.
