The next Scottish merger – the IT implications
Two Scottish law firms – Burness and Paull & Williamsons – have just announced their intention to merge, with effect from 1st December. The new firm – Burness Paull & Williamsons – will have on current figures a complement of 60 partners, 158 lawyers and 400 staff, plus a combined turnover of £38million.
On the IT front, we are not expecting much excitement – both firms run Elite LawSoft as their PMS and Bighand for digital dictation. Burness, the larger of the two firms, also run HP iManage for DMS, LexisNexis InterAction for CRM and LexisNexis Visualfiles for case management, whereas P&W uses LawSoft for both CRM and case management.
