Project Analyst – London (City) Law Firm
Our client is a highly regarded and rapidly expanding law firm. The firm is undertaking an exciting project to upgrade its core infrastructure and is now looking to hire an experienced Project Analyst to facilitate the interface ICT and the business and to manage a portfolio of projects and IT initiatives.
The role will involve the following duties:
•To perform research and analysis functions which may include cost forecasting and budgeting, requirements gathering and analysis.
•To liaise closely with key stakeholders across the various practice areas, building effective working relationships in order to garner support for the various projects and business goals you’re tasked with progressing.
•To initiate and manage projects from the ‘Business Case’ stage, to assembling project teams, all the way through deployment and post-project evaluation phases.
•To manage project logistics and co-ordinate team members (both internal and external) and project activities throughout a project’s lifecycle.
•To produce and maintain project reporting templates and processes, and to use those processes to deliver regular project updates to the business leadership.
•Additionally produce project communication documentation and presentations such as overviews, roadmaps, kick-off presentations, scope documentation, and project summaries.
•Identify and document project issues and risks
•Analyse and propose mitigation plans for risk that balance project needs and requirements with those of the business.
•Ensure ‘buy-in’ and escalation for key decisions as appropriate.
•Assist in resource planning and allocation, effort estimation and time tracking for all project related efforts.
Ideally a graduate, you will need the following experience:
•Minimum of 5 years previous experience in the IT field to include work in a project support or project leading environment.
•2 years or more IT experience within a law or accountancy firm is preferable.
•Experience of managing multiple projects concurrently is essential for this position
•Experience of using or supporting popular, market leading legal IT systems within core DMS, PMS and CRM disciplines is very desirable.
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
•Working knowledge of T-SQL and VBA is desirable.
Additionally, you will need the following competencies;
•Very strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer facing skills.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Willing to travel for multi-site project support
•Requires solid grasp of project management methodologies (Prince2, Agile)
•Good understanding of system analysis methodologies (SSADM or similar)
•Requires an infallible ability to work well under pressure.
•Requires a strong business/technical background.
•Must demonstrate patience, tact, empathy and be able to communicate effectively with all members of the firm.
•Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
•Proven ability to work well in individual and group problem solving situations, effectively using logic and reason.
•Must have a basic knowledge of programming concepts, Integration mechanisms and data security.
•Skills in solving problems, making decisions, and resolving conflicts.
