New York: Evolve Law launches tech programme for in-house lawyers

With the in-house community commonly claiming that they find it difficult to keep up with technology, Evolve Law, a community of U.S. legal entrepreneurs and innovators, has launched the Evolve Law Tech Fellowship, a four-month educational programme for in-house counsel and legal operations professionals focused on facilitating the implementation of new technologies.
The programme will take place in New York City from February through May 2017, focusing on document automation and assembly technologies. Fellows will participate in a fast-paced accelerator-style program that includes educational content, product development and design thinking training, product demos, and hands-on implementation support.
While legal operations directors typically have a good understanding of technology, a big complaint among in-house lawyers is that they have little understanding of what is available and many still have little support from the wider business.
“One of the biggest pain points in our community is from in-house attorneys who want to use more technology in their practice but don’t know where to start, and don’t have the time or resources to do the research and implementation on their own,” said Jules Miller (pictured), managing director of Evolve Law. “The Evolve Law Tech Fellowship provides lawyers with everything they need to know to get document automation software up and running in their companies.”
