Mishcon de Reya rolls out DraftWise across transactional teams

Mishcon de Reya has rolled out US-based legaltech start-up DraftWise across its transactional teams, with a further review underway into how to use the fledgling firm’s tech within the disputes team. Draftwise recently took part in MDR LAB’s Improve programme.

DraftWise is founded by two ex-Palantir engineers, James Ding and Emre Ozen, and former Clifford Chance lawyer Ozan Yalti in 2020. Today, the company works with law firms across the US, UK and Australia and has employees in the US and Europe.;new advadsCfpAd( 155474 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163652 );;new advadsCfpAd( 155475 );;new advadsCfpAd( 155474 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163652 );( window.advanced_ads_ready || jQuery( document ).ready ).call( null, function() {var $legalslider1766404717 = jQuery( “.legal-slider-1766404717” );$legalslider1766404717.on( “unslider.ready”, function() { jQuery( “div.custom-slider ul li” ).css( “display”, “block” ); });$legalslider1766404717.unslider({ delay:10000, autoplay:true, nav:false, arrows:false, infinite:true });$legalslider1766404717.on(“mouseover”, function(){$legalslider1766404717.unslider(“stop”);}).on(“mouseout”, function() {$legalslider1766404717.unslider(“start”);});});

It helps transactional attorneys use their firm’s best language to draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements directly inside of Microsoft Word. The platform integrates a firm’s DMS and internal knowledge resources into a powerful distribution channel for knowledge managers while providing editing, proofreading, and collaboration features for fee earners to easily find and use high-quality precedents and clauses.

Dan Sinclair, head of MDR LAB, said: “We have loved working with DraftWise since they joined the LAB late last year. The business case was clear early on. Our lawyers loved using DraftWise to access relevant knowledge when drafting documents, removing the need to search other repositories.  What we didn’t anticipate was how useful DraftWise would be for the PSL/Knowledge community in terms of knowledge sharing and collaboration. We are excited to work with the DraftWise team and product across a number of elements from our Firm’s knowledge strategy.”;new advadsCfpAd( 156117 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163901 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163650 );;new advadsCfpAd( 156117 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163901 );( window.advanced_ads_ready || jQuery( document ).ready ).call( null, function() {var $legalslider2139479867 = jQuery( “.legal-slider-2139479867” );$legalslider2139479867.on( “unslider.ready”, function() { jQuery( “div.custom-slider ul li” ).css( “display”, “block” ); });$legalslider2139479867.unslider({ delay:10000, autoplay:true, nav:false, arrows:false, infinite:true });$legalslider2139479867.on(“mouseover”, function(){$legalslider2139479867.unslider(“stop”);}).on(“mouseout”, function() {$legalslider2139479867.unslider(“start”);});});

DraftWise graduated from Y Combinator in September 2020 before joining MDR LAB’s Improve programme in December 2020. During the 12-week Improve Programme, DraftWise worked alongside lawyers across multiple departments and teams to test their product, gather feedback and further develop the platform.

“We’re absolutely thrilled about entering into a long-term relationship with Mischon de Reya. They have a vision for putting their most valuable knowledge resources at the fingertips of every attorney, and we’re excited to deploy our platform to help them achieve that vision, said James Ding, co-founder and CEO of DraftWise.

The application window for the MDR LAB winter Improve Programme will open in July. For more information and details on how to apply, click here https://www.f6s.com/mdrimprove/apply.
