There’s a further shake up of leadership in former largely family founded and run document management system provider NetDocuments, as COO Josh Baxter takes over the top CEO role from Matt Duncan, who will become executive chairman. Long term sales leader Marc Duncan becomes vice president of strategic sales in the Clearlake Capital-backed company.

Baxter, described in a Clearlake press release as a “seasoned software industry executive” was named president and chief operating officer in November last year, when Michael Gibson joined as chief revenue officer.

According to a release out today (17 July), Matt Duncan, having served in a number of executive roles since the company’s inception, including serving as CEO since 2014, when he took over from his father Ken Duncan, will continue to focus his time and energy on the company’s strategic objectives while also taking time to care for his father, who is battling late-stage Parkinson’s disease.

“Those in the industry who know Ken, and the special relationship Matt and Ken share, won’t be surprised to hear that Matt feels the need to support Ken during this very difficult time.” said Alvin Tedjamulia, company CTO, who co-founded NetDocuments with Ken. “As executive ehairman, Matt will remain involved with NetDocuments and continue to help with strategic planning and corporate initiatives.”

Josh Baxter, who had a lead role in the recent acquisition of ThreadKM, will join Matt Duncan and Alvin Tedjamulia on the NetDocuments board of directors. “Over the past year, Josh and I have developed a very strong working relationship,” added Tedjamulia. “There is absolutely no one better equipped to continue leading NetDocuments on its upward trajectory.”

The change of leadership follows the appointment in January of chief financial officer Pete Childs, who previously worked at Workfront and Cvent. Former CFO Jeff Sperber left in August 2017.

In May, NetDocuments announced that Leonard Johnson will lead NetDocuments global partner community and strategic technology partnerships, Dan Hauck assumed the role of VP of product and user experience, and Ian Kujawa will be taking on the role of director of corporate strategic sales.
