Legal tech win: AmLaw 200 firm Benesch selects Aderant Expert

Am Law 200 law firm Benesch has selected Aderant Expert as its practice management system, we can reveal. We’ve yet to get hold of the firm for clarification on precisely what swung it for Aderant but we’re told that Benesch included both the front and back office in the team that spent six to nine months evaluating solutions. A statement out later today will say: “Benesch was looking to move away from a pure reporting functionality, to one that provided information to its users on-demand.”
It adds: “The firm saw an opportunity to go beyond the status quo with an intuitive, data-driven platform that would continue to evolve with technology and the legal industry.”
Benesch, which as of June this year had 202 attorneys firmwide and has grown its headcount 41% since 2014 according to a local business paper, has offices in Cleveland, Columbus, Chicago, Hackensack, Indianapolis, Shanghai and Wilmington.
“When you are looking to evolve, you need to listen to what people want, but also figure out what they need,” said Jerry Justice, chief information officer at Benesch. “We see that the industry is shifting and as an innovative organization, we needed a partner that was leaning forward into modern technology. Aderant was the partner we sought to continue our momentum in the future.”
“Tools like this will enable us to better serve our clients,” added John Banks, Benesch’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer. “The efficiencies and responsiveness of Aderant will enable us to communicate more effectively with them.”
