ravnaiRAVN Systems has entered into a strategic partnership with leading legal management consultant firm Fireman & Company to deliver artificial intelligence (AI) and enterprise search technology to the North American legal market.

The partnership will see Fireman & Company, which is headquartered in Toronto, develop practical applications and solutions on RAVN’s platform for the benefit of their clients, enabling firms to boost their profitability and optimise their service delivery.

“We’ve been the industry leader in search and KM for over a decade,” said Joshua Fireman, Fireman & Company’s founder and president. “Over this time, we’ve developed a wish list of applications and solutions that meet lawyers’ practice and KM needs. With RAVN, we finally have the opportunity to develop solutions on a platform that merges AI with practical software development. We are excited to show the legal market our RAVN-based solutions.”

Peter Wallqvist, CEO at RAVN Systems added: “RAVN’s search technology will provide firms and corporate clients with a radically enhanced universal search and knowledge management tool that exploits AI to efficiently capture, find, manage and collaborate on their organisations’ information estate. The technology’s advanced features include expertise location, clause extraction and a knowledge graph to navigate links between knowledge types across the enterprise.”

The partnership comes as RAVN is increasingly repackaging the legal use cases for and application of its software, as its senior leadership team expands. RAVN, which in November 2015 hired Gareth Thomas from Tikit and this year brought in legal tech veteran David Lumsden as chief strategy officer,  recently launched the Legal Professional Privilege Robot for investigations and litigation.
