sa.global announced today (14 August) that they have officially launched their legal360 optimize practice management software solution for the North American marketplace: this launch marks the first fully integrated sa.global version of the software following their acquisition of the LexisOne solution from LexisNexis at the start of this year. Rebranded as legal360 optimize, the new solution is notably and perhaps controversially described by Microsoft (see below) as a ‘game-changer’.

Built on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, legal360 optimize provides integrated time, billing & accounting, matter management, and human resource management capabilities. It provides a single system for financial management, business development, client relationships, and HR/Talent. In addition, embedded analytics and Power BI insights empower firms with real-time insight. The solution is 100% mobile.

“For years, law firms have been forced to run their business on outdated, disconnected systems from different vendors. Trying to gather critically important business intelligence information was a huge challenge,” explains Stephen James, global CEO for sa.global. “This solution is the only fully integrated cloud-based end-to-end solution in the market today and we believe that by leveraging the incredible power of the Microsoft Business Platform, we have created something that is going to be truly disruptive in the industry.”

The sa.global team is said to have made significant enhancements to the capabilities, including a module for Client Matter Inception (CMI) and a new mobile timesheet based on the PowerApps platform that works across iOS, Android, and browser formats. legal360 is now available with Cash Based Accounting, Client Trust Accounting, and a fully integrated back-office Finance, Business Intelligence, and Reporting Suite.

“Disruptive is the best way to describe this new development, and in my opinion, it combines the best of several worlds for today’s future-focused law firms,” stated Whit McIsaac, Americas CEO for sa.global. “Microsoft’s leading global provider of business management applications to professional services firms is leveraging Microsoft’s proven and trusted cloud platform to deliver the most modern practice management suite available today. Our legal360 optimize solution offers unmatched next-generation capabilities around mobility, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence, as well as integration to popular Microsoft tools like Office365 to help today’s most progressive law firms gain a 360-degree view of their contacts, clients, matters, finances, and professionals.”

“The combination of sa.global’s legal360 suite, along with other Microsoft solutions such as Office 365, Azure, LinkedIn, and Power BI, provides the first ever end-to-end solution for law firms based entirely on the Microsoft platform. This is truly a game changer for the legal market,” explained Patrick Fitzhenry, Microsoft Dynamics global ISV partner director.

While part of LexisNexis, LexisOne was targeted at the UK market: its flagship clients include Fieldfisher and Browne Jacobson but the product failed to gain traction, in part thanks to a Microsoft driven move to Azure, which wrong-footed wins such as Wedlake Bell. As we noted at the time of the sale of LexisOne, SAGlobal, as it was then, said that it offered several advantages in taking the ERP to market, including the fact that it is a gold certified worldwide Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation partner and is the only Dynamics 365 partner able to offer CRM, ERP and HCP to professional services firms.

legal360 optimize will be featured by sa.global at the upcoming ILTACON 2019 conference, August 18th – 21st. Head to booth #1221. For those not attending, sa.global will also be hosting a virtual launch event on September 5th. 1. T says:

Cant help but feel they have missed the boat over here (UK) most firms that have to replace their PMS (is there any other reason why firms do replace) won`t go near this due to timings and risk reasons, which means the vast majority of firms in a years time will have either replaced or chosen a replacement, who and what else does that leave? That said, its probably not aimed at the UK market anyway! Shame because its probably better than anything else (which isnt that hard)
