Spot the difference? Legal IT Insider now has a dedicated Startups section and free Legal IT Newswire

Added on the 13th Apr 2016 at 6:00 am

To be honest, I’ve been a bit slow to flag up and brag about a number of changes to Legal IT Insider’s website but you may notice two brand new features that we are particularly excited about.

In recognition of the huge interest and energy within the legal IT startup market we now have a dedicated ‘Startups’ section on the Legal IT Insider website and will shortly be bringing you news of events planned around this rapidly evolving sector.

Just this week, Taylor Vinters unveiled its second startup investment, through a strategic partnership with ThoughtRiver, and LITI revealed in March that Iberian giant Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira is eyeing up the startup market with a view to deciding whether to invest in it.

In 2014 Legal IT Insider was one of the first if not the first to write about UK eBilling startup Apperio, which has this year received £1.7m in a Series A funding, including from Dentons’ investment arm NextLaw Lab. And in February 2015, we brought you news of Ohio-founded eBilling startup Viewabill, which in March 2016 was acquired by Mitratech.

I’m keen to give more profile to the companies that are shaking up the legal market and offering potentially transformational products. Whether you are working with an exciting new company or for the company itself, send us your news and views on startups@tavistockmedia.com.

The other development is that we now have a dedicated Legal IT Newswire page on the site, in which you can upload all of your legal IT press releases for free. We will continue to be the fiercely independent voice of legal IT; breaking the biggest stories and offering unbiased comment and criticism. This separate section will, however, be a useful repository and research source for all legal IT stories. If it’s legal IT related, you will be able to find it on Legal IT Insider.

These changes follow other alterations to the website that you will already have noticed, including our dedicated, free jobs and events section, which means that jobs are no longer intermingled with editorial content, making both more easily accessible.

We also have a highlights bar on the home page, which flags up our top stories and comments even as they slide down the home page.

There has never been a more exciting time to be involved in legal IT and I’m really proud that Legal IT Insider is such a longstanding, integral and free thinking part of the community that continues to help define and progress the legal IT agenda.
